Discrimination is distasteful
I am writing to express my outrage at learning of the blatant discrimination that is prevalent in the ruling by the Victim Compensation Fund regarding payments to all victims' loved ones EXCEPT those victims who happened to be gay or lesbian. This is simply unacceptable. As a country which touts ourselves to be the land of free and the home of the brave, I find this ruling to be in direct contradiction to both. The land of the free should mean that everyone is allowed to love whomever they love. And the land of the brave should encompass everyone who stands up for what they believe in. This includes , one of the heroes who stopped an attack on Washington. just happened to be gay. This ruling dishonors his memory and his heroic deeds.
Please reconsider the disgusting ruling on our fallen American heroes that attacks those who happen to be homosexual. They are no less American than anyone else who died on that fateful day. They deserve to be treated with equality and to have their memories honored in the same way as all of the other victims.
Patriotically,
