I have been hearing rumors that partners of gays and lesbians won't be entitled to the same benefits as partners of heterosexual victims. I hope this isn't true. This event has shown me and countless other Americans that we are one Nation. Every American needs to believe that their government is there for them, as I am here for my government and Nation.
