Sir:

Please contact the Human Rights Campaign and the National Gay and Lesbian
Task Force and ask for their suggestions to make the 9/11 fund equally
available to partners and families of gay victims. Our national infighting
over gays and lesbians have not helped you with this difficult task. These
organizations are more familiar with the issues, how gays and lesbians form
partnerships and families absent legal marriage, and may be able to shed
more light than heat on language that is fair to all.
