I am outraged by the hypocrisy of the UNITED states government's decision not to compensate the families of ALL Americans who need relief after 9/11. How is it okay to fight for or even die for your country if you are homosexual, as did occur on 9/11, but it is somehow against the law to honor these individuals when the time to do so presents itself? I can't imagine the grief of the survivors, a grief that trancsends race and creed, and even transends our stated policies on illegal aliens in an attempt to help. Homosexuals ARE NOT ILLEGAL. They ARE NOT ALIENS. How can we turn our backs on ANYONE'S loved ones who did such courageous things for AMERICA? HOMO-AMERICANS are just Americans. They love, just like anyone else. They proved thier love for this country. Denying relief to the PEOPLE that they loved, and who loved them, is like a slap in the face. People are what makes our nation great. ALL kinds of people, each with different talents and gifts to give. I sincerely hope a reconsideration takes place. HOMO-victims are still victims, just like the rest. They cry the same tears, and feel the same hurt and loss. To deny this not only minimizes their status as Americans, it minimizes their status as HUMAN BEINGS. I'm ashamed that my country would turn its back on ANYONE who gave so unselfishly. I find it adds insult to injury to allow fetuses and illegal aliens latitude with victim compensation, while completely ignoring the fact that, statistically, 1 in 10 of those who are gone now happened to not be heterosexual. How can you dis-count the value of those lives? Having served in the armed forces, I KNOW that you allow men and women to do everything up to and including DYING for the U.S., but those who reside in the HOME OF THE BRAVE are NOT allowed the luxury to live in the LAND OF THE FREE. Let freedom ring; do the right thing.
