September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001

I have been displaced from my apartment

It is inconceivable to me that any one directly affected by the events of
9/11 would not be considered to be a victim even under what appears to be
the very narrow definition provided.

I have been displaced now for almost 2 months now and I have no date from
the landlord as to when I will be able to move back to my home. For a
number of weeks following the attack access to my apartment was extremely
limited as the whole area was designated a crime scene. Even now access to
my apartment is limited to business hours and I have to sign in before
entering.

The cost of finding alternative housing and the clean-up of the apartment
(HazMat decontamination) not to mention the emotional cost is staggering.
