This is in response to the article I read below...It never ceases to amaze me how this country prides itself in fighting discrimination when the "powers that be" perpetuate it. I'm not sure how we, as a nation, can justify giving benefits to illegal aliens when our country's heros-our own citizens, some of which happen to be homosexual, are not eligible. I'm shocked and outraged. Could someone explain this to me? It sends a horrible message (first and foremost to our own nation, let alone the rest of the world). It saddens me to know that I live in a country where an illegal alien is valued more than me, a patriotic citizen. Simply disgraceful.
