It has been brought to my attention, and no doubt to yours, that some extremist conservative organizations want gay and lesbian relatives and partners of 9-11 excluded from the Vicitms Compensation Fund. As I remember, Falwell thought that 9-11 was God's rengence on the US for tolerating such sinners, among others he does not approve of or seem to love in any Christian sense. Please do not give in to any pressures from such groups. Whether you or your staff know or like or love any gay lesiban people or not, the vicitims' partners and families did love them, did depend in part on their income, did share as fully in their lives as the hetersexual partners and families did. Gays and lesbians, like it or not, have children too, and those children are no less deserving of aid in this troubled and troubling time than are the children of hetersexuals.
