Dear Sir:

I strongly urge the Department to craft the legislation for the
administration of the "September 11 Victim Compensation Fund" so that it will include as
relatives for purposes of compensation those who lost their life partners or
parents or children, regardless of the person's sexual orientation or marital
status. This is not a time for our country to apply the ultra conservative
views of some to the detriment of innocent victims. No one asked fire,
police or rescue for their sexual orientation or marital status and no
similar questions should be asked about victims.
