It is difficult to believe that we truly did not learn a thing from the
tragedy of September 11th. I am outraged that gay and lesbian partners of
those who died on September 11 are not automatically going to receive the
same benefits as heterosexual spouses. When did this become an issue of
sexual preference? And why?
