Sunday, March 17, 2002 10:57 PM Gay and Lesbian Citizens - September 11 Fund To Whom It May Concern: I am appalled that our "just" government is once again targeting gay and lesbian citizens, this time the survivors and families of 9/11. How could they possibly be anything less than equal in the eyes of God? I donated to a 9/11 fund, the one that was advertised on television with all the musicians last fall. Let me say this: I gave from the bottom of my heart and pocket book so that the terrible pain and loss of this event can be soothed. No one mentioned anything about discrimination; they were just more than happy to take my money for the good of ALL. I do not know if this is the same fund, but it really doesn't matter. As a taxpaying, law abiding citizen of these United States I implore you to do the right thing and give equally among all those in need. Do not dare to do anything but that with my money. If the individual States have a hard time with that, well maybe it's time for them to begin recognizing ALL people as being equal. How is the world ever to be "righted" when racism and discrimination are still running rampant in our own society. It's time to wake up and realize that we are all in this together - gay, straight, black, yellow or white. Without diversity this would be a sad and lonely Earth.
