Phillips took a picture that would prove to be one of the most evocative and disputed images of that tragic day. Many peple later construed the image of the smoke in his photo of the burning buildings to compose the face of Satan. These e-mails related to this picture provide a revealing portal into Americans' responses to the attacks in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. To whom it may concern,<br>    I just want to give a little hope. I believe that the picture of the face in the World Trade Center is real. We have had a similar experience. My husband got saved and decided to burn all of his KISS cassette tapes. My friend took a picture of the fire as it was burning. When we got them back we saw a face similar to the one that is at the World Trade Center. My husband kept them as a testimony. As the fire was burning that night we also heard really weird hissing and other noises like low screaming. If you believe in God at all you know that the spirit world is real as well. My husband is a Fireman and knows how fires burn and ours was not a normal fire. I just want to let you know that you are not the only one out there that this has happened to and We Believe You!
