The only Airline that would have been sued was American Airlines and if you were familiar with their financial sheet you would wonder if that carrier was worth a bail-out. When Jimmy Carter signed the trucking de-regulation bill I was a division manager of a major truckline. That bill effectively bankrupted the Common Carrier Industry. No one came along and bailed us out. I saw many of my friends and associates lose their homes, boats, cars, and yes----the wives as a result of that. It is fainly clear to everyone that the only reason there is a bail-out of American Airlines is that Sen Tom Daschel's wife is a lobbyist for American Airlines. Politics as usual.
