It touched me very deeply because I could empathize with all those individual families that lossed loved ones. You see, I was the victim of an illegal imigrant who was driving with no liscense, no insurance and was drinking when he ran a stop sign on August 19, 1995 and killed my wife and eight year old daughter. He almost killed me and injured my other daughter. I could not work for two years and I basically went broke with no income and no support. It's been six plus years and I still have not recovered. I'm not crying over spilt milk but, are those families losses any more than mine or the families victimized by Timothy McVeigh. I think not!!! The Government did not do their job and keep me safe from this illegal imigrant but, yet I go on. My heart goes out to all the victims of this tragedy but I warn the Government not to open an Pandora's Box. Please use rational judgement and do not get caught up in an emotional tidal wave. We all take risks everytime we wake up and go outside and we do our best to stay safe. Unfortunately we were not given any Guarantees at Birth and we have to accept the good with the bad. But, if the Government starts handing out 1.6 million dollar checks, When do I get Mine?????
