To Whom It may concern I was very very disappointed when I saw Kenneth Feinberg, the head of the September 11 Victim's Compensation Fund on meet the press this Sunday, when he announced that State Law would prevail when it comes to inclusion in the payout pool, of domestic partners of Gay's killed in the 9/11 attacks. In effect since most state's have not stepped up to the plate to change their laws YET, the only group not included in the pool will be gays. I understand the complexities of trying to discern a legitmate claim from a false one, but every effort should be made to include true domestic partners of Gays, and "Heterosexuals" in the fund. The sorrow felt by those who lost a loved one, can only be made a thousand times more painful, when their country denies them the ability to participate in the pool of compensation that this country has almost too generously set aside for these victims. Enough rules are already being bent, that to hide behind "state laws" to avoid including gays, is either outright bigotry, or simple we cant be bothered to put the effort in to legitimize these claims, but we can be bothered to legitimize other claims (just a tenuous), but do not involve homosexuals. Intended for Mr Bill O Reilly of Fox Nes Mr O'Reilly I ask that you advocate for justice on this, its just plain commen sense. I don't always agree with you on items, but sometimes we do agree. To me this is a very simple issue compensate all victims, (ie dont rely on state laws, are they relying on state laws for other aspects of the distribution of the month). In a world where we have to hold our noses and deal with despots like the Saudi government who recently beheaded a homosexual men for engaging in being themselves, cant our government/country show that regardless of who someone is we give them freedom and admire them for who they are, if they are honorable people.
