Writing "FAIR REGULATIONS' for Sept. 11th Victim Compensation Fund

Attention: Kenneth L. Zwick, Director
Office of Management Programs, Civil Division
                U.S. Department of Justice

Dear Mr. Zwick,

I am writing to you as a grandmother who is hopeful that those of you who are responsible for writing the regulations that govern the implementation of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund will be responsible and fair by including the surviving partners and children of gay and lesbian victims to equal entitlement of the benefits of this fund.

It is my understanding that there are some citizen's of this country who wish for the exclusion of benefits for the partners and children of gay and lesbian victims and who are requesting your preclusion of these benefits for them. While I respect everyone's right to have an opinion, I do not respect those citizen's opinions nor their despicably vile actions of urging the U.S. Department of Justice to exclude these survivors of the victims from benefits of this fund. Where is there sanity and justice in a request against these
survivors? I wish to acknowledge for the benefit of those citizens who ask you to deny benefits to the partners and children of gay and lesbian victims, that some of these victims and their survivors fought for our freedoms while serving in the military. They also go to places of worship, give to charity, help the community and never ask our government to deny any benefits to those same citizens who oppose justice and fairness to them.

In conclusion, I wish to express my feelings that it is not only high time, but equally over due for our Department of Justice, and Our Office of Home Land Security to put an end to the dictatorial, terroristic citizenry(those citizens who request unAmerican regulatory implementation of benefits of the September 11th Fund). Otherwise, we won't have to worry about the terrorists in the Middle East, we'll be destroyed by our own home land citizenry terrorists.

Asking that you include the partners and children of gays and lesbians as beneficiaries of the September 11th Compensation Find, and thanking you for your consideration of fairness and justice, I remain Respectfully,

Date: December 5, 2001

p.s. As a grandmother, I pray that my my grandchildren will someday live in an America that is not governed by legislation created by lobbyists for the selfishness of big businesses or ever have to live with benefits with which entitlement is decided upon by the radical right. Also, I pray for them to be able to drink pristine water which is not contaminated by gasoline leaking into well water and waterways from underground storage tanks (of which there is
legislation in place that is not being enforced thereby causing cancer and death to many people). I truly hope for them a homeland whose people can surpass the indifferences of religious beliefs, sexual preferences, and color and ultimately reap the benefits of a truly great America.
