Saturday, March 16, 2002 2:35 PM Victims I am writing today to express my outrage over the clear and discriminatory policy that is currently in place that would provide Victim Compensation Funds to fetuses and the families of illegal aliens and yet deny the same funds to the surviving partners of same-sex couples. For a fleeting moment following the horrors of 9/11 I believed that the days of hyphenated-Americans (black-Americans, Latino Americans, gay-Americans....etc.) might actually be over. I thought that we might move forward into the future simply, finally as AMERICANS. The policy currently in place does not allow for that and the dream, once again, is shattered. How can the heroism of &nbsp , &nbsp , &nbsp and so many others be so denigrated! It is a disgrace to the patriotism of all Americans that once again there is a group being told they just don't matter. God help America.
