It's bad enough that OUR government devalues our lives in so many ways already; but now I'm hearing that, in this time of supposed unity, we are still allowing bigotry and mean-spiritedness to rule. To do anything less for survivors simply because they happen to be gay sends a clear signal of how far our elected officials will bend to please bigots. It's time that ALL citizens be treated equally.
