9/11Victim Fund

To Whom it May Concern:

Denying access of 9/11 Fund monies to gay and lesbian
partners has got to be about the most insulting thing
I have heard in the last ten years. And I realize
with your position, you're not really "denying,"
you're only saying they may "not necessarily be
eligible." Exactly who do you think you are kidding?

We live in a time of great trials for America.
Promoting this idea of second-class citizenship is an
insult to the lives of all of those people who died.
I realize that the concept of tolerance is not a
concern for George W. as of late, but he is a busy man
with a great deal on his plate. It is a concern for
people like Kenneth Feinberg, who should be ashamed of
themselves.

New York has one of the biggest gay populations of any
city in the world. There's even a book called 'The
Gay Metropolis' tracing the history of the GLBT
Population in New York. Sending a message like this
to the people who have loved and supported New York is
a message to us. You are telling us to hit the
streets on this like ACT UP! used to, because you just
don't think about an invisible minority.

Shame on the lot of you.
