Ashamed of you
As a heterosexual woman, I would like to voice my disappointment in our government's decision to include illegal aliens in the compensation of 911 and exclude gay and lesbians. If the Dept. of Justice can include persons in the distribution of Federal Funds, that are breaking the law and not include persons that are legal citizens but not recognized as "married", I don't live in the country that I have always believed was the most fair and just country in the world. It breaks my heart to hear that what a couple does in private is the premise for prejudice and discrimination. Especially when they have died saving the lives of the very people who are denying their partners what is rightfully theirs. If one vote counts, I vote to give ALL the victims their due and forget the archaic prejudices of yesteryear.
