Disbelief

To whom it may concern:
After listening to comments about the compensation program, I am saddened to hear and read about victims who are upset by the outcome of the program. If, as happens everyday, a spouse or parent had been lost under many other very dreadful and horrific situations (fire, murder, DWI wreck, earthquake, etc.), the family may or may not receive any compensation. Are these "everyday" victims less important, are the ramifications to their families less devastating, are their needs less? I would venture to guess the vast majority of families who lose their caregiver would not receive $1.6 million. If families were well prepared, good for them for being farsighted to provide for their loved ones in case of an "everyday" death. I applaud the government for reaching out to these families, however, I feel it should be viewed as a privilege, not a right, to receive such compensation. Thank you for giving each of us a chance to comment.
