I have no doubt that the gay partners ,of the people who died on 9/1l, have suffered as much as the husbands and wives who died on 9/11. Their lives have been turned upside down, and they too must now pick up the pieces. What happened on 9/11 was a huge tragedy. Please do not compound this tragedy, by alienating the many good people, who happen to be gay, who lost their loved ones in the 9/11 attack. I urge you, in the strongest terms, to extend equal compensation to the gay partners of those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attack. They are not any different from you and I, and they too are be suffering . They too have lost their life partner, who shared their personal lives, and financial lives. They too, may be struggling with financial difficulty, as well as the the unbearable grief of loosing their loved one. This is an issue of compassion and empathy, not of gender or sexual preference.
