Dear Kenneth Feinberg:

It is wonderful that the civilian victims families will be helped.
Their uniforms; of a jacket and tie, are every bit as important and
worthy as a fireman or policeman's uniform. Each chose their jobs.

It seems appropriate the way monies are being figured out EXCEPT
the reduction of the amounts by the life insurance being paid.
This is wrong because those families paid money out of their
salaries for life insurance by deducting that amount from the total
you are making the sums equal. For a family that paid thousands in
premiums (bringing home less money), over the years to those that did
not pay for extra insurance. Those that paid into life insurance should
get that above the federal money. If it is deducted from the total, the
insurance paid for will not be received, as it will be deducted from
total.

My cousin was 55, married with 3 college age sons, making
$108,000/year. He paid for life insurance for his wife & son.
Compare that to someone of the same age and family situation, who did
not pay for a policy. why should they get the same amount.

It urge you not to deduct private life insurance from the federal pay out.
Those families paid for the policies and their monies should show it.

Without changing the rule, you are making it irrelevant to have life
insurance.
