I find it hard to believe that we are living in a time when the gender
of our partner STILL dictates whether we receive the basic support
granted in a time of trauma or national disaster.
How is it that only straight people deserve to have support from
September 11th?
Are they in greater need? Are their children and partners more
traumatized? Are they in more financial crises?
I dare say, no they are not.

It is painful to see how such a large part of our population is being
further ostracized and discriminated against, simply by who they are
partnered with

This is appalling
and I don't know how the people that made this decision can sleep at
night
