Office of Management Programs, Civil Division
U.S. Department of Justice
Dear Mr. Zwick,
I write you to urge you to include all families which lost loved ones
during the atrocities of 9/11. Why should a woman living in Virginia have to
lose her house, as well as having lost her partner of 17 years, when she
would have been compensated had she either lived in New York State or been
allowed to legally marry? If this tragedy has taught us anything (and this
lesson is obviously lost on some) is that in the eyes of God we are all
His/Her children and that those who hate Americans don't make the distinction
between gay and straight. Take care of all the families that were affected
by the tragedy.
Thank you.
