EQUAL TREATMENT OF GLBT FAMILIES WITH SEPT 11TH VICTIM COMPENSATION FUND

Kenneth L. Zwick, Director
Office of Management Programs
Civil Division
U.S. Department of Justice
Main Building, Room 3140
950 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, D.C. 20530

Dear Sir,

I am writing a very short and simple opinion on the above referenced issue. I would like to implore you and our government to ensure that the Department of Justice will include among relatives eligible for compensation those who lost their life partners or de facto parents or children, regardless of sexual orientation or marital status.
We are all Americans and no American should be excluded from a program that is for Americans. All of us including gays and lesbians pay our taxes, have jobs, donate to charity, and etc. Therefore we deserve all the priveleges and opportunities that any American should be able to have. That is what this country is about, freedom and we are all equal. I do hope that you remember all that we contribute to this country as we remember all that you do for us and all those that have lost their lives just being American.

Thank you for your time and thoughts.

Sincerely,

Individual Comment
Plano, TX
