Monday, January 07, 2002 12:56 AM Comments on Victims Compensation Fund Attorney General Ashcroft, My heart goes out to everyone who lost friends and loved ones in the Sept. 11 attack on our Great Nation. But it is very disturbing to witness my government use MY TAX MONEY to compensate the families -- especially when these families just seem to want to argue about what they are entitled to. They need to be thankful to Almighty God that they live in a country where "We the People" care enough to offer assistance. I certainly don't see MY GOVERNMENT offering to compensate the Sergeant First Class's family who was KILLED in the line of duty protecting this country. I am sure his widow would be over joyed if Our Commander in Chief would give her just a portion of what is being offered to these families. I served my country for over 20 years in the US Air Force and then worked with two different members of Congress. I put my life on the line every day for my country and never expected anything in return. All I wanted and continue to want is a safe place for my children and grandchildren to live and for each of them to be able to live "free". Thank you for your time. I commend you for your efforts in working with other departments of our government to put an end to terrorism.
