Unite EVERYONE
This is in response to news that gay and lesbian victims of 9-11 are not receiving the same benefits that their straight (including illegal aliens) colleagues' families are. In this time of american patriotism, don't you think it's time to accept everyone as American...no matter who they love. As a firefighter, 9-11 struck home to me, I lost friends and family in the tradegies of that day. As a lesbian the continued hatred and oppression since has shown me that no matter how good I am at my job, I'll never be considered the same as the straight people I work with. I am still a second class citizen, although I work everyday to save the people in my community...now I ask you, is that right?
