9/11 Fund to Discriminate Against Gays


I am contacting you because I was very upset to hear that your intention
is to omit the partners of gays and lesbians from access to this fund. I
hope it is not true, I have not taken time to verify it, but I will. I
am a tax payer and contribute to the strength of this nation just like
everyone else. I feel like this is taxation without representation, I
pay my taxes but I do not have access to the programs and the relief
that other Americans do. Our government officials stood in front of the
country and said that we must demonstrate tolerance when coming in
contact with members of the Muslim community, the very group charged
with committing this act against our country. When it comes to gays a
lesbians, the government officials are very comfortable telling people
we are not to be accepted or tolerated. Several member of the gay and
lesbian were identified as heroes in this tragedy, is this how you
intend to honor them?
