Zwick, Director Office of Management Programs, Civil Division U.S. Department of Justice Dear Mr. Zwick: I am touched by the outpouring of support from our country to the victims of the tragedy of September 11th. I understand there may be some question as to whether to include the partners and families of the gay and lesbian victims. I am shocked that such a question should even arise. Certainly every person who suffered or died at the hands of the terrorists deserves equal treatment, including financial benefits to surviving partners and family members. The hatred that hijacked those planes believes that for reason of birth, life style, nationality or religion, certain people do not deserve to live. I pray we do not perpetuate that divisive thinking within our own country.
