- I FEEL THAT THE COLLATERAL SOURCE CLAUSE
SHOULD BE ELIMINATED, A FAMILY SHOULD NOT BE
PENALIZED FOR HAVING A PENSION +/OR
LIFE INSURANCES. IN ANY LAWSUIT, ONCE A
SETTLEMENT IS REACHED, THERE ARE NO
SUCH DEDUCTIONS FROM THE SETTLEMENT
SINCE A VICTIM'S FAMILY IS ENTERING THIS
PROGRAM IN LIEU OF A LAWSUIT, THE SAME
BASIC RULES SHOULD APPLY. THIS CLAUSE
EFFECTIVELY BARS A VICTIM'S FAMILY FROM
COLLECTING ANY COMPENSATION. IF MONEY IS
A PROBLEM FOR THE GOVERNMENT, MAYBE LES
MONETARY AID SHOULD BE SENT TO AFGHANISTAN
OR MAYBE THE AIRLINES
