Please override state laws and provide benefits for bona fides partners
of gay and lesbian victims of the attacks on 11 September 2001. Gay and
lesbian persons were killed because they are AMERICANS not ALABAMIANS or
MICHIGANDERS. To decline to treat them as equals because of some hoary
idea of state primacy is NOT what this country is about. It is rank
discrimination at its worst; if one were to replace "Jew" or "Black" in
the policies or discussion where Mr. Feinberg said "gay" or "lesbian"
one would think he was more friendly with Bull Connor than Martin Luther
King, Jr.

Stop this obscenity NOW.
