Victims Compensation
Dear Mr. Ashcroft:
I strongly urge the Department of Justice to allow partners of gay victims
to be included among those allowed to be granted compensation from this
fund. When partners live in a spouse like relationship and their finances
are intertwined I see no reason why the government cannot recognize their
financial loss. Doing so does not endorse gay marriage or in any way
diminish traditional marriage. It is simply the fair and right thing to do.
