9/11 Fund Comment

To whom it may concern,

I am outraged that gay and lesbian partners of those who died on September 11 are not automatically going to receive the same benefits as heterosexual spouses.

There is no logical reason that this type of discrimination should be associated with this tragic event. It is a struggle for gay and lesbian relationships to get the respect that they deserve, and this is not the forum to deny that respect to the victims.

Does the creator of the fund feel that the loss of a gay lover and partner is less tragic than a straight one? It certainly seems that way. The attempt to devalue a person's life this way is inhumane and a travesty. This is not patriotic! This is not united!

Do the right thing!!

Amend the Fund rules to include same-sex families on an equal status of opposite-sex families!!
