To whom it may concern,
I am shocked and disgusted that partners of gays and lesbians will not
be receiving compensation if the state in which they reside does not have
domestic partnership laws, yet families of illegal aliens will be compensated
(contrary to state laws!). This is bigoted and discriminatory. At this
moment I am ashamed to be represented by this Congress that would put
together such a disgusting bill.
What happened to "and justice for all?" Are the homosexuals who died
on 9/11 less heroic than the straight people who died? Did their families
cry less at their passing? NO! So why shouldnt the loved ones of
homosexuals get the same compensation as other families?
The Victim Compensation Bill should be amended to "
Some-of-the-Victims Compensation Bill" if partners of gays and lesbians are
not equally compensated for the loss of their loved ones.Individual Comment
