Compensation for partners of Gays and Lesbians


Dear Mr. Feinberg,

I find it appalling that the partners and children of gays and lesbians
killed in the 9/11 attacks will not receive that same compensation as those
of heterosexuals killed that day, unless their state recognizes same-sex
unions. You have said that undocumented aliens -- present in the U. S. in
violation of federal law -- will be compensated without penalty to
themselves or their employers. Surely the partners and children of gays and
lesbians are no less worthy of our compassion.
