At the Library of Congress in the tunnels going from one building to another. Popped in an office and saw it on tv, thought it was a bad airplane accident at first. Then, heard about the pentagon where a close friend works, and spent much time trying to find out about him. then decided to head for home to get my sons out of school. was able to catch a ride with a friend who had a car, which was good because the trains weren't running by then. got home in an hour and got my sons, we all headed home and stayed glued to the tv LC Story: Memory What is your strongest memory of that day? The feeling of panic among staff, worrying about my friend, worrying that my boys were safe. LC Story: Affects How do you perceive that the events of September 11, 2001 have affected this country and/or you personally? I think it makes the US realize it is not invulnerable. It makes me realize how incredibly lucky we have been as a whole, when comparing to Israel or other countries constantly under terrorist threat. Other than that, has not changed my life significantly...I figure that when my time comes, it comes, and there isn't much I can do about it except live until then the best I can, and NOT give in to the terrorists plans of causing widespread panic and terror in the US.
