The deaths on September 11th were the result of an attack on America and all of its citizens. Please do not discriminate against any of those citizens. The unmarried partners of September 11th victims are particularly at risk. In today's world, there are many definitions of relationships - especially in a city as crucial to the US as New York. Also in a city such as New York, the cost of living dictates a sharing of expenses. With one of those partners suddenly taken by the tragic events of September 11, many many people in such relationships are facing severe hardships. Thus I ask you to ensure that all unmarried partners, gay or straight, young and old and their dependents should be eligible for compensation.
