Support for gay partners of September 11 Attacks
It is utterly outrageous that our government will overlook federal and state
laws to extend a hand to illegal aliens who lost partners in the 9/11
attacks, but it will abide by state law when it comes to determining whether
or not those same benefits will be extended to gay spouses. This is
intolerable. What a slap in the face of every gay and lesbian citizen of this
country.
It only serves to strengthen my resolve to campaign against every Republican
running for any office in this country. If this is the party of John
Ashcroft, then it must be ousted before gay and lesbian Americans who work,
teach, doctor, police, fight fires and saves lives can be treated as full
citizens of this country.
