Everyone who perished in these attacks had people who loved them. Some of those people have been life partners for many years and our government does not allow them to "legalize" their relationships through marriage. I think you would agree that the partners of these people are suffering as much as, if not more than, those who are able to marry. Many times same-sex couples are not even acknowledged as having been affected by this horrible act on our country. , one of the heroes on flight 93, had a partner and his partner was never written about or interviewed as man who has lost his soul mate. , the widow of , one of the other heroes on that plane, are able to grieve with the support of the public and is aptly entitled to any benefits being accorded to victims families.
