The article stated that the 9/11 fund will not look at gay relationships in the same way as their heterosexual counterparts. I find this approach to the fund distribution to be unacceptable. Gay relationships should be treated like all other relationships. The fact that they cannot marry is not due to lack of desire.....The excuse that the fund will defer to state law is just that, an excuse to exclude certain Americans from just compensation. I want you to know that I will not benefit in any way from this fund...however, I do hope that my fellow gay Americans who are the surviving partners will be treated as everyone else.
