We ARE Family

Dear Friends:

When two people make life commitments to one another
their lives grow together in miraculous and organic ways.
When two men or two women make these commitments
and treasure them it is often all the more remarkable
given the cultural and societal factors that condemn
and seek to destroy same sex relationships. Love lived
in committed relationship deserves honor.

I write to encourage you to honor the relationships of
gay and lesbian couples torn apart by the tragedies
of and subesquent to September 11th. Governor
Petaki of New York "gets it". I trust you will too.
