Please do not turn your back on surviving gay American families
of 9/11


For the surviving families of the many gay heroes who died on September
11, it is important that they receive the same aid as other surviving
spouses and children. While same-sex partners do not have the legal
recognition enjoyed by different-sex spouses, their emotional and financial
loss at the death of their soulmates is just as great as for others. Please
treat all survivors the same; please ensure that the children, partners, and
other family members of gay victims on September 11 receive equal
compensation.
