Victim's Compensation Fairness
Dear Attorney General Ashcroft:
I urge you to include both married and unmarried surviving spouses and partners in the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund.
The President has asked for unity in the face of this crisis of terrorism. Let's not victimize surviving partners a second time -- be they straight or homosexual -- by denying them benefits. Put your Christian fundamentalist values aside and do what's right for all Americans.
To exclude certain surviving spouses from benefits only reinforces the hateful views of and made shortly after the September 11th attack; remarks the President says his administration rejects.
