equal compensation for all Americans who are victims

Dear Sir or Madam,

I want to express my concern that even after the lessons of September 11, we
are still treating some Americans with less dignity and respect than others
based on orientation. There were several heroes on September 11, some who
happened to be gay. Among them were &nbsp , &nbsp , and
&nbsp . They put up a fight to prevent loss of life to more
Americans by thwarting terrorists plans to fly a plane into more buildings
(one believed to be the White House). How do we Americans repay that? We
tell them they are less of a citizen, less than an illegal, less than a
fetus and not worth acknowledging. If we can inject our personal religious
theology into government policy to deprive others, we are no better than the
Taliban.

Our policy of refusing to allow committed adults to have a legally
recognized union, then depriving them any benefits because they are not in a
legally recognized union is a disgusting and cruel policy. How do we justify
being morality police world-wide when we continue to discriminate in our
homeland?

Please reconsider the policy to exclude benefits for partners of homosexual
Americans.

Sincerely,

Individual Comment
