Apparently we have a government with no compassion for American citizens - only a political agenda. So much for unification of our country... I'm disgusted! Someone wrote: What do you mean partners of gay people who died September 11th will not be compensated? To hell with state laws, it's not state money that's being disbursed! Are you saying no gay people have contributed to the 911 fund? Are their lives less valuable? Are they lesser humans because of their sexual preference? If that's the case, then bisexual people should not be compensated. Or people with sexual fetishes. Or someone who's had a fantasy that wasn't in the missionary position with the lights off. I will be writing to my congressman, the White House and every other elected official I can find to protest this barbaric, inhumane act. It's okay to give money to illegal aliens who don't pay taxes and don't contribute to the community or the welfare of our country, but it's not okay to compensate participating, contributing Americans, who are willing to die for the country of their birth. Sometimes I'm ashamed to be an American.
