Fair treatment for LGBT families
Dear Mr. Zwick:
I am writing to request that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families who
lost a family member in the tragic events of SEptember 11 are equally
compensated for their loss. As a member of the LGBT community, I know that our
families often do not get the legal recognition that they deserve. I am urging
you to make sure that those of us who lost loved ones are treated the same as
our heterosexual counterparts. Our loss is real and so are our families. Thank
you for your consideration.
P.S. Let's not forget that one of those brave souls on the flight which crashed
in Pennsylvania was a gay man that risked his life to save many others. Do not
do him a disservice by allowing homophobic attitudes to prevent families from
getting the compensation that they both need and deserve.
