Denying benefits to same-gender partners is unjust and offensive

To the Department of Injustice:

I am extremely angered by the announcement that same-sex partners will
not be compensated, even though illegal aliens and _fetuses_ will. This
is clearly the bigoted ideology of the Religious Right, and is, I
believe, outrageously unacceptable to most Americans.

The argument about relying on the states is the same old "States
rights" arguments that segregationists (Ashcroft, are you among them?)
used for decades to impede the progress of civil rights legislation, and
is an unwholesome and discredited direction for the U.S. to be taking.
Turn this around and be fair to _all_ the survivors.
