I'm sure our country was grateful to get the help of those gay heroes during the attack, and surely are grateful to the gay soldiers fighting terrorism now. I shudder to think what the consequences would be if all gay americans stopped volunteering in their communities, paying taxes and all other civic duties that they perform daily. Surely they deserve the same compensation and consideration.
