It has come to my attention that partners of gay and lesbian victims of the horrendous attacks on Sept. 11th will not be elibible for aid from the 911 Fund, but the families of illegal aliens and illegal aliens themselves will be allowed to come forward and apply for relieve without negative recourse. What makes this even more heinous is the attempts to hide behind the rationalization that you can only recognize the relationships of those gay couples that are recognized by their State governments. Hello!!! Are we not ALL American Citizens...I think a federal policy definitely needs to be in effect here. I am a Christian man who served in the Army Reserves for 9 years, is proud to call himself an Eagle Scout and who volunteers for a wildlife refuge, attends church regularly and who loves his coutry very much AND happens to be gay. It grieves me deeply that such a policy should exist in aiding the victims of 9/11. I am praying and will continue to pray that common sense and justice will prevail in this case.
