Stop Discriminating!
I am outraged to hear that the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund will
not treat the partners of gay and lesbian victims equally nor provide the
same benefits accorded to spouses of heterosexual victims of the horrible
terrorist attacks. It is an affront to all of those gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgender heroes who died for their country. Hatred and
discrimination are not American values and only serve to undermine the sense
of national unity that so many people are trying to create during this
crisis.
